We can order the Holiday Catalog TODAY!!!

Hopefully all of you have received your preview of the mini Holiday catalog in the mail... isn't it great? If you haven't, go check your mail box right now!

I love all the kits they've given us! These are perfect for project parties, or just great gift ideas for our customers for Christmas. Anyway, UL has decided to let us order our catalogs early, so starting at NOON today we can order them as a Supply order. It is $7.95 for a pack of 25!

I can't wait to get mine!!!

Conference Call Tonight!

Don't miss tonight's Conference Call on how to do a successful Project Party. Tara Tanner will be presenting information from Beth Holm's session on this topic at Convention. Beth's was UL's top saleswoman this year, and her project parties are one of the tools she has used to get there. There will also be time for Q&A, so we can share what has and hasn't worked, for those of us who have already done a few project nights.

Time: 7:00 PM Mountain (please adjust for your time zone.)
Call in number: 1-218-936-4700
Access Code: 479813

If you can't make the call, Tara's presentation outline and project pictures will be available later this evening at: http://ulcalls.blogspot.com/

I think they will also be recording tonight's call, so check back for a link to the recording. Hope you can make it!!

Project Nights - Part 2

Here is a follow up on my last post with a few suggestions for doing a Project Party.

When you are planning a project night, make sure you cover all your costs in the projects... so if you're planning on serving refreshments, include a little extra in the project price to cover your expense. Everyone is different as far as what they charge for the projects. I usually just charge the retail price for what I need to purchase from UL, and then I give them 10% off any order they want to place that night as an extra incentive. If I need to order any UL paint, Mistik, vinyl effects or other accessories that I use as supplies, I just figure in the amount at my cost (I don't make anything on these items.) Also, it is good to have an order form for your guests to complete when they RSVP for the event. Include the prices for each item, and they will fill in quantity, color (if you are offering them a choice) and total cost. Then always collect the money BEFORE the event!! If someone can't make it to the event, I try to provide a package of their supplies and instructions so they can complete the project at home. I'm going to post a sample flyer/registration form that one of our team members has done. Thank you to RaeAnn Collins for creating this flyer!

Project Night Ideas...

I've been brainstorming ideas for my next project night, and I just wanted to share what I'm doing, as well as a few cute ideas I've found from other demonstrators. If you have any ideas to share, PLEASE POST A COMMENT!!! If you have any pictures, email them to me and I'll post them up for everyone to see.

The more the merrier! I love seeing what you all come up with. When I get my stuff from UL and have my projects done, I'll post my pics too. Let's get our creative juices flowing!

Here are some things I'd like to do:
- The Halloween 12x12 board in the catalog (pg. 135). Everyone who sees this in the catalog loves it, and it looks even cuter in person with the Vinyl Effects on the letters!

- A Mud Room board with hooks for keys, jackets, hats, etc. I'm using our new pre-drilled MDF board, the antique hooks, and expression #16389 (The Mud Stops Here). I think I will paint it in Whipped Creme and order the lettering in Hot Cocoa or Chocolate Brown.

- Kitchen Canisters with the chalk "tags & tidbits" for labels. I saw this idea at convention and I LOVED it! You could use them to store pasta, rice, dried beans, or even use one as a candy or cookie jar. The great thing is, you can erase the "label" and change out what's inside as often as you want. I'll use the tall glass canisters or whatever I can find for a good price :)

- Give Thanks trifle bowl. Order one of our Give Thanks 6x6" expressions in Etched Glass, and add to a glass trifle bowl for a beautiful gift or holiday serving dish.

- 6x6 expression on our new artichoke or cream punched tile... I haven't quite decided what I want to do for this one yet. People always love my 8x8 sign with the "Please Remove Your Shoes" so I might go with that one, but it would be fun to do something custom for the upcoming holidays. Look at what Jacqueline Cason (an amazingly artistic demonstrator) has done with these tiles in our new MyDesign Suite!!

This inspires me to get in there and start working on a design for these cute new tiles! They also had a really cute recipe book made from 2 of the artichoke tiles at Convention. That would be a good holiday gift - A book of family recipes!

Does anyone else have ideas for these?

Please share!

Welcome to our Blog!

I'm so excited to finally have a place where I can communicate with each one of you and share ideas, pictures, inspiration, recognition and more! With all that is online now, I know you have a ton of sites, blogs, facebook, etc. that you try to keep up with. I'm not trying to replace any other UL resources you may currently use, but just trying to provide a single place that I can get the word out to the members of my team.

As you know, we just returned from an amazing week in California for our annual Uppercase Living Convention. It was great to connect with all of you who were there, and I want to keep that connection going througout the year so I hope you guys will use this blog!

Also, for those of you who are in my 4th or 5th levels, you probably have team members who don't get any of my emails. There is no way for me to access any information beyond my 5th level so I'm looking to you to get that information out to your teams. Please send them a link to this blog so they can feel like they are in the loop and part of our group. I don't want anyone to feel left out!

Please share your comments on any of my posts, and if you would like to contribute your own post, idea or pictures with the team, just send it to me in an email: jacksmama@gmail.com and I'll post it up right away with your name as the contributer.

If you become a "Follower" of this blog and have "Google Reader" or another reader list, you should be notified when I post something new. Or, just check back periodically for new annoucements, upcoming events, ideas and pictures. I plan on posting something at least once a week on Mondays, and maybe more throughout the week. For those of you who aren't quite blog-saavy, I would LOVE to help you and walk you through it so you will be able to come back often.

Let's have fun this fall and start LIVING Uppercase in all that we do!

Love, Holly
